Established for over eleven years, The Furniture Helpline was set up to support low-income families in North East Hampshire, Waverley in Surrey and West Sussex by redistributing previously owned, good condition furniture and electrical appliances at affordable prices.
When you next want to upgrade your furniture or electrical appliances, The Furniture Helpline will collect your unwanted, good condition stuff, recondition and safety test it, and then offer it for sale at really low prices. We’ll sell to anyone who wants to buy, and for those on income support, there are even lower prices because they’re the reason the Helpline exists.
Last year The Furniture Helpline made over 600 transactions providing support to over 1,800 people by reusing over 4,000 items including 800 beds, 160 cookers and 168 washing machines.
A registered charity, The Furniture Helpline doesn’t aim to make a financial profit, but cover our costs and make enough money to be able to keep going. So it’s easy to see why The Furniture Helpline is always on the lookout for Volunteers without whom none of our services would be possible. If you can help in our warehouse, deliver or collect goods, answer the phones or help with our fund raising efforts, we’d love to hear from you!
If you need The Furniture Helpline’s services, would like to donate good condition furniture or electrical appliances, or would like to become one of our valued volunteers:
